Volunteer Opportunity!
The Steering Committee is looking for 1-2 community members to help move the Social Prescribing initiative forward. Specifically, we’re looking for someone who:
- Is an older adult (55+)
- Lives in Regina or surrounding area
- Doesn’t have a work background in health or other systems
- Is interested and passionate about helping to make social prescribing a reality in Regina
If this isn’t you, please share it with someone you think might be interested!
Why are we asking? Your perspective matters! As someone who’s not, and hasn’t been involved in the professional side of things, you’ll bring valuable insights and help us make sure the initiative considers real-life experiences. You will help vet ideas and share your experiences and perspectives to shape the initiative as it progresses and evolves.
What is the commitment? Currently, Steering Committee members meet about twice a month. Once the initiative is up and running, that will reduce to once a month or less. Meetings last about 1.5 hours, usually on Fridays, but that is flexible. There may also be some work between meetings to help keep things moving forward.
Please let us know if you have any questions. Thanks for considering this opportunity! There may be other opportunities as we move forward and we will be sure to share them with all of you.
